The Breast Center at New York Hospital Queens is the largest provider of breast services in the entire borough, and is dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis, treatment and recovery of women with breast disease. We believe that the most effective breast cancer care is multidisciplinary, taking advantage of the combined expertise of a team of specialists, including surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, plastic surgeons, psychologists and other health care professionals. The Breast Center was designed with the comfort of women in mind. Its modern but warm design helps to make a more relaxed experience possible as each patient goes through the process that will take her to ultimate victory over her fears.

Consultation and examination take place in quiet, private surroundings where the doctor can give each patient the individual attention she needs. Visits are unhurried and give attention to the medical findings and options as well as the patient's emotional needs.

This skilled medical team is led by Karen S. Karsif, MD, Director. A board certified physician with extensive experience, Dr. Karsif is a highly trained specialist whose compassion is foremost in her care. In fact, her philosophy is to treat the entire woman, not just the disease. Highly respected by patients and the medical community, Dr. Karsif was honored by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation with the 2002 Gay Clark Stoddard Memorial Award for exceptional medical care.
