The Department of Pathology is the largest such department in Queens. It tests samples submitted from around the borough, the state, and the world. Its labs provide multiple services to the Cancer Center, including bacteriology, blood bank, chemistry, cytology, electron microscopy, hematology, histology and immunology. The staff have a strong background in neoplastic disease, with special experise in breast and gynecological cancer, and cytopathology.
