The
Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery was created in 1996, the year the
borough of Queens received its long-awaited approval to provide cardiac
surgical services at New York Hospital Queens. Since that time, the
program has blossomed into a busy service boasting superb outcomes and
the ability to carry out the most sophisticated of procedures. As part
of the Heart & Vascular Center, the cardiothoracic surgery program
works in cooperation with a large staff of clinical and interventional
cardiologists in order to provide care that is coordinated and
comprehensive.
