Melvin
Hochman, M.D., is director of the Division of Critical Care Medicine.
After his undergraduate studies at Queens College he received his
medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He
completed his medical internship at St. Luke's Hospital Medical
Center and his residency at Montreal General Hospital, where he
also completed a fellowship in hematology. Following his
hematology fellowship, he completed his fellowship in Critical Care
Medicine at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Hochman is a clinical assistant professor of Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. His devotion to teaching has earned him several "Teacher of the Year" awards. He also has numerous administrative duties and serves as chairman of the Department of Medicine's Quality Assurance Committee, co-chairman of the Department of Medicine's Mortality and Morbidity Review, and is member of the Institutional Standards Committee and the Surgical Case Review Committee.
Dr. Hochman is board certified in Internal Medical and Critical Care Medicine.
