Barry Kaplan, M.D., Ph.D., is director of the division of Hematology/Medical Oncology. Following his medical training at New York University, he obtained a Ph.D. in Physiological Chemistry from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After serving as a fellow in Physiological Chemistry at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Kaplan completed his medical residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center.
Dr. Kaplan is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. His special interests include physiology and medical oncology. Along with his academic positions in medicine, Dr. Kaplan has served as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Kaplan's contributions to the medical literature are numerous. He has written in a variety of peer-reviewed journals on medical, physiologic and oncologic topics and has also penned chapters for medical texts.
Dr. Kaplan is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.
