FreeMAT Presentation of Holiday Toys to U.S. Army-December 4

EVENT: New York Hospital Queens’ FreeMAT (the Freedom Medical Aid Team) will present a mountain of gifts collected from this year’s community toy drive to the U.S. Army- 77th Regional Readiness Command.

Representatives from the U.S. Army will accept the gifts on behalf of the families. City Councilman John Liu also is expected to be in attendance.

WHEN: Thursday, December 4, 2008
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

WHO: The Freedom Medical Aid Team (FreeMAT) has been actively involved in collecting donations for the United States Armed Forces personnel since April 2002.

The toys will be distributed to the children of those soldiers who are fighting overseas and will miss the holiday season with their loved ones. There will be several holiday parties in December where the toys will be distributed.

This year, FreeMAT partnered with City Councilman John Liu, local schools, businesses and organizations to collect gifts.

New York Hospital Queens is a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System and affiliated with the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
