New York Hospital Queens has been designated an AIDS Center by the New
York State Department of Health. The center offers comprehensive
HIV/AIDS services and the Infectious Disease service meets daily.
The center's case management team is composed of physicians, nurses, a
nutritionist, social workers, oral pathologists and pastoral care
representatives. In addition to providing state-of-the-art medical
therapy, the center offers HIV testing, psychosocial intervention,
ophthalmology, OB-GYN services, dental care, nutrition counseling and
supplements.
The medical director and a nutritionist have lectured extensively on a
national level and are on the Boards of Directors of numerous HIV/AIDS
professional organizations. Furthermore, the staff has published many
articles in peer-reviewed journals. A list of publications and video
tapes can be made available upon request.
