| The goals of the Human Subjects Research program at NYHQ is to ensure that the rights and welfare of human research subjects are protected, and to facilitate the collection of research data obtained through direct intervention/interaction or through the use of identifiable private information (medical records) or specimens. Research limited to the use of non-identifiable patient information may qualify for exemption from IRB review, however all exemptions must be determined or granted by the office of the Institutional Review Board. Only current appointees to the Medical Staff of The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens who have been granted appropriate clinical privileges may apply for approval of proposed investigational drug, diagnostic test or device used in research projects involving human subjects. |
