New York Hospital Queens “Baby Catchers,” “Dragon Hearts” and “Paddle Medics” Take to the Water at the 2009 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival

What:
Three teams from New York Hospital Queens will compete in the 2009 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival races at Flushing Meadows Corona Park this upcoming weekend. The hospital will race three boats representing the Heart and Vascular Center, and the departments of obstetrics and gynecology, and emergency medicine.

When:
Saturday, August 8, 2009, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, August 9, 2009, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New York Hospital Queens teams:
Dragon Hearts – Doctors and staff from the Heart and Vascular Center
Baby Catchers – Doctors and staff from obstetrics and gynecology
Paddle Medics – Paramedics and EMTs from emergency medicine

Background:  
An eight-year sponsor of the dragon boat races, New York Hospital Queens is committed to raising awareness of health issues within the community. In addition to participating in the races, NYHQ will have vendors and medical staff on site who will be providing free blood pressure screenings and educational literature.
