Flushing, NY, June 18, 2009 - New York Hospital Queens awarded 102 physicians-in-training diplomas this week during the annual graduation ceremonies held by the hospital’s clinical teaching departments. About 65 percent of the graduating doctors have elected to remain in Queens and the surrounding areas of New York City or Long Island as they continue their careers.
The NYHQ Graduate Medical Education Program includes residency and fellowship training in medicine, dental and oral medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine, podiatric medicine and surgery, radiation oncology, cardiovascular, gastroenterology, geriatrics, infectious disease, nephrology and pulmonary/critical care medicine. Currently, there are 234 residents and fellows training in the hospital’s program.
