Flushing, NY – New York Hospital Queens has launched a new multi-lingual Web site. In English, Spanish, Chinese and Korean, www.nyhq.org streamlines access to the hospital and physicians, community-based health care services and general medical information for patients, medical professionals and the community-at-large.
“For consumers who are choosing a hospital, need referral to a specialist, or want information on a medical condition, nyhq.org can help them to make a more informed decision,” said Stephen S. Mills, president and chief executive officer. “Last year, New York Hospital Queens discharged more than 34,000 patients and saw nearly 100,000 people come through the doors of our emergency room. It is critical for us to provide immediate information to the wide variety of people who rely on us for their well being.”
A team from the hospital, led by Cynthia Bacon, director, Public Affairs & Marketing, assembled culturally diverse focus groups to help develop the new site. Through this input from the community, as well as from physicians and patients, and with the expertise of hospital’s nationally recognized design team, a state-of the art online gateway was created to NYHQ.
“The new site provides one-stop, interactive access to learn about the health care services, facilities, technological advancements and medical experts who make up New York Hospital Queens,” said Camela Morrissey, vice president, Public Affairs and Marketing. “The site is constantly evolving and will become even more interactive and supportive over time. We invite the community to go to www.nyhq.org to learn more about health care expertise and services that are readily available to them right here in Queens.”
New York Hospital Queens is a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System and an affiliate of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
