Flushing, New York - Stephen Rimar, M.D. M.B.A has been appointed Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs and Continuous Quality Improvement at New York Hospital Queens.
Dr. Rimar joins the hospital with 25 years experience earned in hospitals and healthcare systems, including most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for the Cooper Health System and Chief Operating Officer for Cooper University Physicians, in southern New Jersey. Prior to Cooper, Dr. Rimar held faculty appointments in the departments of pediatrics and anesthesiology, with a joint appointment to the school of management at Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Rimar also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, a member of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System, where he is credited with leading the onsite team responsible for improving their financial and operational programs.

Dr. Rimar holds a BS in biology from Yale University, earned his medical degree from the George Washington University and his M.B.A. from the University of New Haven. He completed his residency in pediatrics and anesthesiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, in Connecticut. His book, The Yale Management Guide for Physicians, is published by John Wiley & Sons.
