Ambulatory Care The Department of Community Medicine partners with the hospital's major clinical departments to provide care in medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics. These services are delivered on the main campus of New York Hospital Queens and at a variety of community-based locations. These include Article 28 community sites that help NYHQ to blanket the Queens community with points of access to the finest in primary care medicine.

The department helps to improve the health of community members through a variety of screening and health outreach programs that touch thousands of individuals each year. These programs are offered to organizations, businesses and schools throughout Queens, and are frequently conducted in the language of the participants and are focused on the health needs of the particular ethnic population.

New York Hospital Queens also offers Diagnostic Laboratories for patient testing at convenient places in the community.

Hours are from Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This outpatient center provides both urgent and comprehensive primary care services, and houses both medical subspecialty services (heart disease, lung disease, joint disease, diabetes/hormones, care for the elderly, osteoporosis, liver disease, gastrointestinal disease, kidney disease and hypertension, and allergies) and surgical services (including podiatry). Diagnostic testing is available on-site.

HealthOutreach® was initiated in 1996 through a partnership with the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System and is a program for older adults and their families. It provides centralized access to hospital and community programs, specialized to meet the health and social needs of the elderly.

The Jackson Heights Family Health Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed to deliver high quality care. Services provided include internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, laboratory and other support services.
