Meet the team

The Pediatric Asthma Center was opened in April 1994, to provide comprehensive disease management based protocols for children with asthma from infancy through age 18.

The Center offers a unique program of sophisticated testing, careful monitoring, continual care and a highly personalized course of protocol driven treatment by specialists in the care of asthma.

The protocol has written guidelines for:

24-hour hotline
Structured education program
Continuing education
Environmental analysis
Behavioral management
Social worker
Support groups


The Center also provides the only 24-asthma hotline in the state of New York with physician response.

The Outreach arm of the Program is the Mobil Unit which is a 40 feet van equipped to both educate and treat children with asthma. It conducts its outreaches in the public schools in Queens educating children, nurses, physical instructors and guidance counselors. It travels to underserved communities and Treats children with asthma who don’t have access to health services.
