Event: New York Hospital Queens will kick off the Major Modernization program with a groundbreaking celebration. Many state and local officials will be in attendance lending support.

Celebration to be held outside the entrance of The Lang Center for Research & Education, near the corner of Booth Memorial Avenue.
Background: The major modernization program is designed to add capacity and services to the thriving community teaching hospital. The modernization is needed so that the institution can serve the fast-growing population of the surrounding community and provide Queens residents with access to high quality healthcare close to home.
This expansion program includes a new structure with 80 medical/surgical beds. It will aggregate and increase services that are in high demand, such as cardiovascular and ambulatory surgery facilities. Development also includes a parking facility with two levels of underground parking and one at street level.
