How to Keep Children Safe and Protected

WHAT: A free educational lecture for parents and caregivers regarding child safety. Please encourage these members of the community to attend a special event where they can learn about protecting their children and keeping them safe. Participants can register for this event and receive additional information by calling (718) 670-1033.

WHEN: Saturday, June 2, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

GUEST SPEAKER: Jose Villarin, M.D., FAAP, Associate Chairman of Pediatrics, Medical Director of the NYHQ Theresa Lang Children’s Ambulatory Center, and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

BACKGROUND: Dr. Villarin will review the potential safety hazards that can cause burns, falls and choking in the various stages of child development. With guidance, and by knowing what to expect, parents can prevent many childhood injuries.
