Fundraising Gala includes private performance by Earth, Wind and Fire

EVENT: More than 2,600 employees, along with family and friends, will celebrate the extraordinary efforts of Kenro Izu, renowned photographer and Founder and President, Friends Without a Border. Mr. Izu is being presented the New York Hospital Queens’ highest honor, the Pacesetter Award, at the 12th annual A Spring Night Gala.

WHEN: Monday, June 4, 2007
              6:30 pm: Cocktails and Dinner
              9:00 pm: Pacesetter Award ceremony honoring Kenro Izu
              9:30 pm: Private performance by Earth, Wind and Fire

BACKGROUND: With fundraising efforts critical to the hospital’s ability to expand services in the fast-growing Queens community, the hospital expects to raise $5 million. This estimated amount is expected to be the highest amount raised by a non-profit organization in a single night in the tri-state area.

The Pacesetter Award recognizes outstanding achievements in medical education, patient care and research, as well as humanitarian efforts to promote the health and well being of the human community. Mr. Izu is being honored for his efforts resulting in medical care for more than 400,000 Cambodian children—including 6,800 surgeries and the education of thousands of Cambodian health care workers.

New York Hospital Queens is a 439-bed community teaching hospital, located in the heart of Queens in Flushing, NY. New York Hospital Queens is a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System and affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
