WHAT: National Nurses Week: May 6-12. New York Hospital Queens celebrates its nurses – who dedicate their careers to saving lives, providing high-quality healthcare and offering a strong dose of personal service to help patients feel better and return to daily living faster.

BACKGROUND: New York Hospital Queens nurses are committed to providing the community with a higher level of care. The purpose of National Nurses Week is to raise public awareness of the value of nursing and to help educate the public about the vital roles registered nurses play in meeting the health care needs of the American people. This year, the American Nurses Association has selected "Nursing: A Profession and a Passion" as the theme for 2007.
