Flushing, New York - The Board of Standards and appeals voted to approve the major modernization project application for New York Hospital Queens, (NYHQ) at a meeting yesterday.
The major modernization project is designed to add capacity and services to the thriving community teaching hospital. The modernization is needed so that the institution can serve the fast-growing population of the surrounding community and provide Queens residents with access to high quality healthcare close to home.
This proposed expansion program includes a new wing with 80 medical/surgical beds. It will aggregate and expand services that are in high demand, such as cardiovascular and ambulatory surgery facilities. The proposal also includes a parking garage with two levels of underground parking and one level at street level.
