This 3-year program provides a broad spectrum of both didactic and clinical experiences in the major subdivisions of prosthodontics: fixed, removable, implant and maxillofacial. These topics include the supportive subject areas in dental materials science, the physiology of occlusion, and the use of analogue instrumentation. Special areas associated with aging, illness and chronic pain syndromes, such as temporomandibular joint disorders are studied.
The hospital environment demands a close working relationship with other specialists in the various disciplines of dentistry and medicine. Integrating surgery, implants and periodontics, and their relationship to prosthodontics are emphasized.
