24th Annual Frank Randazzo Jr. Golf and Tennis Classic

New York Hospital Queens hosts a golf and tennis outing each year that attracts executives from the banking, insurance, legal, brokerage, and health care industries. It is also popular with medical staff and administrative leaders from institutions associated with the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System. Guests will enjoy a full day of golf or tennis, refreshments on the golf course or tennis courts, and a deluxe cocktail reception and dinner banquet. As always, event participants will be eligible for prizes in a number of categories of play. We will also hold our special gifts drawing at dinner with fantastic prizes including golfing trips, custom golf clubs and prizes donated by luxury retailers such as Americana Manhasset, Brooks Brothers, Hermès, Hirshleifer's and Tiffany & Co.  Over the years, the funds raised from this event have made a significant difference to the hospital in strengthening our cancer research and cancer patient programs.

The Frank Randazzo Jr. Foundation was established in 1984 and is dedicated to the support of cancer programs here at NYHQ.  The family and friends of Frank Randazzo Jr. have turned a personal tragedy into a public triumph.  When Frank Jr. died of cancer at 25, they established this foundation in his name. Since its founding, it has made significant contributions to our Cancer Center.  It provided the leadership gifts for both the The Frank Randazzo Jr. Memorial Unit and the The Frank Randazzo Jr. Cell Biology Laboratory; it has funded a free transportation program for patients receiving outpatient treatment; and it has sponsored courses and workshops for families who are caring for patients at home.  In 2003, we renamed our annual golf classic the Frank Randazzo Jr. Golf Classic in honor of their late son.  We are so grateful to them for all they have done for cancer patients throughout the years, and proud to be associated with them and keep the memory of their son alive through this special event.

Highlights from the 23rd Annual Frank Randazzo Jr. Golf and Tennis Classic

New York Hospital Queens’ 23rd Annual Frank Randazzo Jr. Golf and Tennis Classic was held on September 12, 2011 at the Old Westbury Golf & Country Club. We had a record-breaking turnout and our sponsoring corporations, healthcare institutions, nursing and rehabilitation centers, physicians and employees of the medical center contributed more than $365,000 to the event this year. Their generosity makes an important difference to the hospital in strengthening our cancer research and cancer patient programs.
