The Theresa Lang Children's Ambulatory Center is a modern, spacious pediatric outpatient facility. It was designed to make children and their parents as comfortable as possible during what can be, at times, a stressful experience. The center's mission is to provide the kind of service usually associated with a private office setting. The center strives to make waiting times as short as possible and provide a pleasant, child friendly environment to put the child patient's mind at ease.
The center is a state-of-the-art facility that provides pediatric
specialty care in various specialties including surgery, cardiology,
orthopaedics, neurology, pulmonology, and care for high-risk newborns,
as well as routine primary and follow-up care. This center is also home
of Fit Kids Queens: A Healthy Lifestyle
Program for Overweight and Obese Children.
This facility is staffed by pediatricians who provide complete medical
care beginning at birth and continuing through age 21. The
friendly and accessible center, which offers appointments and walk-in
urgent care, receives more than 25,000 patient visits each year.
In addition, the center’s child-friendly décor provides a relaxing and
comfortable setting, and staff members strive to make waiting times as
short as possible. In 2012, Splashes of Hope created new murals
throughout the center, further brightening the space.

The staff is dedicated to helping parents feel comfortable and well-attended also. Each child is assigned to a specific primary care attending pediatrician with years of experience in caring for children. As the center is part of a teaching hospital, children and parents may be exposed to pediatric residents in training, but the attending is always present to supervise and make all final decisions concerning the child's health.
The medical, nursing and clerical staff are all dedicated to providing patients with the most courteous and professional care available. No problem or concern is treated as trivial and the supervisory staff is always available to offer personal attention for any matter. The hospital's pediatric social worker is also on hand at a moment's notice when needed.
