New York Hospital Queens is a Level 1 trauma center servicing the Queens community. Orthopaedic surgeons and rotating orthopaedic residents care for patients with severe fractures, pelvic and acetabular fractures, femoral fractures, nonunions (bones that do not heal), osteomylitis (infection of the bone), multiple injuries, isolated fractures and other orthopaedic problems.  At the time of your visit, depending on the severity of the fracture, your physician may treat the injury nonsurgically; for instance, by using splints, casts, braces, or other devices on the outside of the injury to stabilize the fracture.
