In 2008, New York Hospital Queens inaugurated the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship, a one-year program based entirely at New York Hospital Queens in Flushing, Queens. New York Hospital Queens has a high volume (approximately 100,000 visits per year), high acuity, urban Emergency Department that hosts a PGY1-3 Emergency Medicine Residency Program with 10 residents per year and is affiliated with the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

Highlights of the Fellowship

• 18 hours clinical per week
• Monthly US didactic and journal club sessions
• Weekly tape review
• Extensive research experience, support and opportunities
• Option to have a rotation in international emergency ultrasound
• The ED currently exclusively maintains 4 state-of-the-art ultrasound machines: a Zonare Z-One Ultra, a SonoSite Titan, a SonoSite Micromaxx, and a GE Logiq.
