The Division of Urology at New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) offers the community the most sophisticated, high-quality urological care available anywhere today. The department’s staff includes a growing team of full-time physicians as well as voluntary attending surgeons.
We are also proud to offer the community state-of-the-art robotic surgery using the newest da Vinci® robotic system. Our robotic surgeons have expertise in the surgical management of prostate, kidney and bladder cancers, including robotic prostatectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy, and robotic cystectomy with urinary diversion. With more precise instrumentation and superior 3-dimensional visualization and magnification, robotic surgery enables more precise tissue handling in a minimally invasive fashion. For patients, this translates into superior results with decreased postoperative pain and fewer side-effects from surgery.
In addition to laparoscopic and robotic surgery for urologic cancers, our staff has expertise in the management of the full spectrum of urologic diseases, ranging from urinary stone disease, to benign prostate enlargement, to male and female urinary incontinence.
