It is the mission of the Women's Auxiliary to raise funds and support health-related programs that benefit the hospital and our community.
Since 1957, the Auxiliary has been an integral part of New York Hospital Queens, reporting to the CEO and Board of Trustees and responsible to abide by all the rules and regulations that govern the hospital, including the Code of Conduct.
New members are always welcome and find the Auxiliary to be a place where meaningful work is done and lasting friendships are formed.
Our members come from every walk of life. They include physicians, physician wives, schoolteachers, retirees, and community residents. Many join because they have had positive experiences at NYHQ and want to give thanks for the outstanding care they or a family member have received.
It is easy for members to find a way to contribute by helping with fundraising, organizing special events, handling administrative tasks and more. Ours is a collegial environment in which members enjoy each other’s companionship along with the satisfaction of contributing to the hospital community.
To become an Auxilian, all you have to do is fill out a membership application, pay the appropriate dues, and participate in one orientation meeting. You are then entitled to come to all the special events we run throughout the year.
To become an active member of the Auxiliary, you must be registered as a volunteer. This includes:
