Blood is the fluid of life, and much of what we have come to take for granted in modern medicine would be impossible without blood donation. A blood bank can take one collection and draw from it components and materials that will benefit a number of different individuals in need. The unit of whole blood that you so generously give will supply oxygen-carrying red cells to an anemic, cancer patient, essential clotting factors to a hemophiliac, and immunity-confering proteins to a patient fighting severe infection.

QueensBloodDonor is dedicated to the needs of those New Yorkers who tomorrow may require this type of medical support... perhaps one of your neighbors, or even your family member. From our home at The New York Hospital Queens we reach out to the greater New York community, providing education, organizing donation drives and making new friends for the blood bank. Of course, we can only succeed in our mission through effective partnership with you, the community members willing to donate your time and your blood in this great effort. And while we work deligently to be effective stewards of the blood supply, we never loose sight of the fact that it is the individual donor who is truly... "giving life."

Please explore this site to learn more about blood and blood donation, and to learn how you might help in this important work.
