Diagnostic Radiology

Patient Safety : Most Advanced Equipment

Our X-ray department is home of the most advanced and modern equipment on the market. In the Diagnostic X-ray department we have over 30 technologists who perform over 70% of all the Radiology Department procedures. The department does general x-ray along with doing Digital Fluoroscopy. All of our technologists are registered by the ARRT and licensed by the New York State Department of Health. We have 2 digital x-ray units in our emergency room as well a separate orthopedic unit on the 4th floor. NYHQ uses the PACS system which allows physicians access to x-ray images via the internet for immediate results and diagnosis.

  • Barium Enema- An exam of the colon in which a small flexible tube is placed in the rectum and the colon is filled with a contrast as the Radiologist watches it go through the colon. Test takes app. 30-45 minutes.
  • Intravenous Pyleogram (IVP)- This exam is a small injection into the arm which allows the Radiologist to visualize the kidneys and the bladder through a series of general x-rays taken in a timed manner. Test takes app. 45 – 60 minutes.
