As we strive to promote a culture of cultural competence, patient
centered-care and community engagement, we hope that you will tap into
these resources for your education, for educating your department,
colleagues and for stimulating conversation leading to practice change.
One of our projects is building resources to make educational materials
available throughout the institution and easily accessible in the NYHQ
Health Education Library. Many of these resources can be used for
conferences, in-services and other projects. Feel free to contact Dr.
Dina Lieser in Pediatrics at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information
or assistance. Additional resources are being added to this collection
We'd like to highlight two specific resources that may be of particular use; Picker Institute DVD "Through the Patient's Eyes" Through the Patient’s Eyes" provides the critical information hospital staff need to identify and understand what matters most to patients. In chronicling the dimensions of care, insight is provided to what patients think and experience during a hospital stay. It truly shows the experience of patient care from the patient perspective both visually and intellectually and is a powerful tool that garners great discussion and has a powerful impact. All material is great for conferences, in-services and to consider as a requirement for all staff in your area. This is great for implementation of new QI projects. Also contact us for free resources including patient safety cards and posters with hotline numbers and other resources.
