Lifeline, a fee-for-service program of HealthOutreach, is a home emergency response service. Its purpose is to help people maintain their independence by providing them with access to emergency assistance 24 hours a day. By pressing the waterproof button, usually worn around the neck, one is able to alert the Emergency Response Center that help is needed. Our paramedic staff will call the home and, through the voice-to-voice communicator, determine what type of help is needed. If necessary, they will send an ambulance or other assistance.
Who Can Benefit From Lifeline?
Lifeline is beneficial for people of all ages. It may provide an alternative to costly home care and help ease the transition from hospital to home. Lifeline offers peace of mind and independence to the user and provides respite and reassurance for concerned family and caregivers. Lifeline is available in Manhattan and Queens at this time.
