Paul Freedman, D.D.S. is the Director of the Oral Pathology Laboratory Inc. Additionally; he is the Director of the Section of Oral Pathology and the Oral Pathology Residency Program at The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens, and Chief, Section of Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine at The New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He also has a teaching appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and maintains a private practice of clinical oral pathology at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.
Paul received his dental degree from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1971 and then interned at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine‑Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. He completed his specialty training in oral pathology at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens.
Paul has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology since 1975 and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology since 1978. He has served as a member of the Executive Council of the AAOMP for three years, was Chairman of the Laboratory Services Committee for two years, a Member of the Advisory Committee on the Code of the ADA and as Consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation and as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the ADA. In addition, he has served a seven-year term as a Director of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and is currently the President of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. He was on the editorial board of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontics for many years and is currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Paul has lectured widely on oral pathology and is the author of over 90 publications.
