Dr. Brandler has been a member of the Division of Neonatology since 2004, after finishing his Neonatal fellowship at Duke University, where his research focused on a novel inhaled treatment for persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, and on the comparative vasorelaxant properties of a new class of pulmonary vasodilators. Part of this research was presented in a platform presentation at the Pediatric Academic Society meeting in 2004.
Since joining the Division, Dr. Brandler has led the Neonatal quality assurance committee, and been involved in resident education, student education, and been involved in clinical research, with several published articles and a presentation at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition. He is a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Regional Trainer.
