Dr.
Di Cesare has returned to practice in New York with his appointment as
the Director, Total Joint Arthroplasty Services for the Bone and Joint
Hospital of Queens at New York Hospital Queens. His addition to this
growing orthopaedic surgical service increases our capacity to perform
total joint replacement, revision arthroplasty, resurfacings and complex
reconstructive procedures while giving area physicians much needed
additional access for patients.
Dr. Di Cesare spent the past six years as a professor and the Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California/Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Prior to this, he was chief of the adult reconstructive service and director of musculoskeletal research at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. From 1992 until 2006 he held positions and a professorship at the New York University Medical Center (now NYU Langone). He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Di Cesare’s surgical outcomes have earned a loyal following of patients and physicians and have been on a parallel track with a prolific record in research and education. He holds a patent on Nuclear Acid Therapy to Enhance Cartilage Repair, has been the principal investigator for dozens of grants, and has authored numerous publications. He is an advisory board member and frequent reviewer for clinical journals and professional societies, including the Orthopaedic Research Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
