Meet the Medical Director, Aaron Turkish, MD

Dr. Turkish obtained his medical degree from the State University of New York-Health Science Center at Brooklyn and completed his pediatric residency at the Montefiore Medical Center. His interest in pediatric nutrition and complex gastroenterological problems led him to pursue and complete a pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition fellowship at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York at Columbia University.

It was at the Columbia University Medical Center where Dr. Turkish developed a strong interest in studying the complications of obesity and dyslipidemia at the genetic and molecular level. He has obtained numerous grant awards, published his data in several scientific journals, and continues to collaborate with colleagues at Columbia University.

In addition to an interest in caring for patients with inflammatory bowel disease and other pediatric gastroenterological problems, Dr. Turkish has a particular interest in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and dyslipidemias.

Meet the Exercise Physiologist, Rudy Rumrup, M.S.

Rudolph M. Ramrup (Rudy) obtained a Masters Degree in Physical Education and a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from Queens College CUNY. Rudy is a New York State certified Physical Education Teacher and has been a physical education teacher for the past 10 years.  He has worked with children ranging from ages 4-18 in a variety of physical education settings.  He is a believer in lifetime physical activity because of its emotional, physical, social, and psychological benefits to quality of life.
