Dr. Roxana Lazarescu is Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at NYHQ since 2012. Dr. Lazarescu is a graduate of ‘Carol Davila’ University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania and underwent Internal Medicine Residency training at New York Medical College – Metropolitan Hospital Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and worked for the past 2 years as Academic Hospitalist at NYHQ.
Before coming to New York Hospital Queens, Dr. Lazarescu was the Chief Medical Resident at Metropolitan Hospital Center and Instructor in Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College. Dr. Lazarescu is also an active member of Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine, Society of Hospital Medicine and American College of Physicians.
Her areas of interest are: excellence in clinical education in the inpatient setting; quality improvement of patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings, with multiple participations in rapid improvement events like: ‘Admitting Adult Patient from Emergency Department to Inpatient Medicine’; ‘Standardized ED workup per diagnosis and Admitting orders’; ‘Improve the Medical Discharge Process’; ‘Inpatient Redesign Team – improving sign out process’; Development and Design of Adult Medicine Clinic ‘Team Care Model’; ‘Monitoring patients with chronic diseases like Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Hyperlipidemia in the Medicine Ambulatory Clinic’, etc.
