Residency Training

The Department conducts an accredited surgical residency program for which the Resident Review Committee has authorized full accreditation. During 1996, the Department effectively integrated the ophthalmology and podiatry services, and instituted plans for the integration of orthopedics, urology, general and pediatric surgery.

Residents' continuing medical education activities are supported by the department's faculty with ongoing teaching conferences and continuing medical education programs. All department physicians are board-certified and hold academic appointments at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. This academic relationship has presented new opportunities and resources for both resident training and scholarly endeavors.
