Cynthia Bacon- 718-670-2515

A Showcase for Cutting Edge Techniques and Treatments

New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) Center for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Medicine is hosting an open house for community physicians, community leaders, elected officials and the news media. This is an opportunity to meet the center’s growing medical team and learn about orthopaedic procedures that are minimally invasive, allow shorter recovery times and can reduce the risk of infections and other complications—and are now available in Queens.

Monday, January 11, 2010, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

NYHQ Center for Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation Medicine
163-03 Horace Harding Expressway, 2nd Floor (Parking is available)
Fresh Meadows, NY 11365

The surgeons and medical staff will be available to talk about the newest techniques and treatments now available in Queens.

· Jeffrey Rosen, M.D., chairman, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation

· Alexander Golant, M.D., attending surgeon

· Tony Quach, M.D., attending surgeon

· William Gibbs, M.D., medical director, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Many of the staff are multi-lingual and can provide information in Chinese, Korean, Russian and Spanish.

The NYHQ Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation program provides some of the newest techniques and treatments, including joint resurfacing, which allows patients an alternative to total knee or hip replacement, robotic and computer-assisted knee replacement and hip arthroscopy, a minimally invasive hip surgery. Another exciting technique is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, a treatment option for stubborn injuries such as tennis elbow, Achilles tendonitis and knee tendonitis.
