Mets shortstop Jose Reyes, catcher Josh Thole and manager Terry Collins came to New York Hospital Queens for the unveiling of the New York Mets-themed Starlight Site™ care room donated by Starlight Children’s Foundation NY*NJ*CT on January 20, 2011. The decor of the room was donated by the Starlight Children’s Foundation in honor of the New York Mets. Joseph J. Abularrage, M.D., chairman, Pediatrics, New York Hospital Queens, is pictured with the Mets.
Participating in the "ribbon-cutting" ceremony, pictured above (left to right) are Stephen S. The care room is colorfully decorated with New York Mets memorabilia. For many years the Mets have partnered with Starlight and New York Hospital Queens to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
Mets players Josh Thole and Jose Reyes visited children who were too ill (or too young) to participate in the festivities.
