New York Hospital Queens to Host Educational Visit for Physicians from Beijing

EVENT:
The Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Care Medicine at New York Hospital Queens will host physicians, from the Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Beijing Long-Fu Hospital in China, who are interested in learning more about the U.S. health care system.

There will be a welcoming ceremony and press conference where members of the press are invited to take photos and interview our visitors as well as members of NYHQ administration and medical staff.

Elected officials and local community leaders will be in attendance.

Long-Fu Hospital is a 251-bed, teaching hospital that has a strong focus on geriatric care and rehabilitation. The visit will concentrate on the American model of care for older adults as well as seriously ill patients, namely geriatrics and palliative care.

FYI: The Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Care Medicine at New York Hospital Queens establishes a comprehensive plan of care for strengthening the quality of life of the elderly as well as for individuals with any serious illness at any age. Palliative care helps patients and families with decision making in the setting of serious illness and navigating a complex health care system. Palliative care can be provided at the same time as curative treatments.

New York Hospital Queens is a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System and an affiliate of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
