Since 2002, FreeMAT has been actively involved in collecting toy donations for the children of deployed U. S. Armed Forces personnel stationed at Fort Totten in Queens and other local reserve bases in the region. The toys will be distributed to children at several holiday parties in December.

This year, FreeMAT partnered with New York City Comptroller John Liu, local schools, Community Bd. #7, Senators Toby Stavisky and Tony Avella, Congresswoman-elect Grace Meng, Assembly Members Rory Lancman and Edward Braunstein, Council Members Peter Koo and Dan Halloran, and the Bayside-Whitestone Lions Club to gather donations.
