New York Hospital Queens Installs Community Art Garden
Paintings by Local Artists Brighten Hospital Walls
Much like flowers planted in the ground, the New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) Community Art Garden has taken root with paintings from local artists including the hospital’s employees, patients, visitors as well as community members. The hospital will host a reception to celebrate the first installation of this growing garden of art on the hospital walls.
Artists were asked to paint a canvas demonstrating one or more themes, including healing, compassion, health, wellness, Queens, diversity and/or community.
During the reception, blank canvases will be distributed for phase 2 of the Community Art Garden. A second Call for Artists campaign is seeking additional artwork from local artists.
Local artists as well as hospital employees, medical staff and leadership will be in attendance. Members of the press will have the opportunity to take photos and speak with artists who donated artwork to the garden.
Wednesday, August 21 at 5:30 p.m.
