New York Cosmos Soccer Players to Visit New York Hospital Queens

Pro Players Sebastian Guenzatti, Stefan Dimitrov and David Diosa Have Queens Roots

WHAT:
The Bone and Joint Hospital of Queens at New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) will hold a press conference with team members from the New York Cosmos soccer club, including Head Coach and Howard Beach resident Giovanni Savarese, Assistant Coach Alecko Eskandarian, plus several players, such as Sebastian Guenzatti, Stefan Dimitrov and David Diosa who grew up in Queens.

NYHQ was named the official hospital of the New York Cosmos soccer club on July 30. The Cosmos have returned to the North American Soccer League after nearly 30 years of absence from the pro game, and NYHQ now serves as the team's official medical and orthopaedic consultants.

Off the field, NYHQ and the New York Cosmos will raise awareness for bone and joint health among all area athletes (including the weekend warriors) via events such as youth health and wellness clinics in Queens.

Following the press conference, team members will visit young patients in the Pediatric Unit at NYHQ.

WHO:
Members of the press will have the opportunity to photograph and talk with these soccer stars from Queens, their teammates and coaches, as well as physicians from the Bone and Joint Hospital of Queens at New York Hospital Queens.

Sebastian Guenzatti, midfielder, grew up in College Point and attended Francis Lewis High School. He played on the school’s soccer team for four years.

Stefan Dimitrov, midfielder/forward, was born in Bulgaria and moved to Queens as a teenager; he played soccer for the New York Pancyprian-Freedoms and Brooklyn Italians, as well as the Cosmos Academy team, before signing with the Cosmos earlier this year.
